Tracking Control Solution
Control solutions provide a means to test a glucometer for accuracy. There are three types: Low range, in range, high range.
Each lot of test strips will often produce different results, but need to be within the indicated range. A test strips from the same lot will often produce the same BG number when a control solution is used. By tracking control solution results from the same lots, you can detect any deviations to understand the lot's accuracy, and, in turn, blood test results. Most glucometers will exclude control solution results from it's averages. Keeping track of lot numbers and control tests would be a good thing, but we'll need a means to flag them so the app will automatically exclude them, unless a filter is applied to show just the control tests.
