Average Blood Glucose Statistics

BG Monitor calculates average blood glucose a bit differently than how you may be used to.
It takes into account the time duration between blood glucose entries in order to provide a more accurate average.

For example, suppose one day that you have a stubborn low blood glucose and you check several times to see if it is going up:

8:13 AM   125 mg/dL
12:00 PM 150 mg/dL
3:18 PM   47 mg/dL
3:27 PM   55 mg/dL
3:34 PM   76 mg/dL

The arithmetic mean (what most people refer to as an average) for these entries is 90 mg/dL.
The average computed by BG Monitor 117 mg/dL.
By comparing the two averages, we can see that the regular arithmetic mean is lower than expected because you checked the same low blood glucose several times.
